About Michelle
Michelle was born in France and spent her formative years studying there. When she
came to England in 1965 she became newly inspired, working in new techniques in
water colouring with Stella Cardew at Bromley Art College in Kent.
Drawn to London, she then pursued Life Drawing under the tutelage of Clive Garland
at Camberwell Art College and sculpture at Heatherley School of Art. During advanced
research into Art and Design at Chelsea and Westminster College, Michelle entered
her formative period working in oils and mixed-media colours assisted by Guillem
Ramos Poqui and Tamara Katz.
In 1989, Michelle opened a studio in Maida Vale with six other artists. She then
opened her own gallery at London Bridge and a few years later she moved to a gallery in
Notting Hill. She now works from her studio in the heart of the Kent countryside.
Her work is held in many private collections in England, U.S.A and France, which
includes well-known restaurants, offices and films, such as "Bridget Jones's Diary".
